We’ve been gone a while. But don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten you. In fact, we’ve been working on some nifty new features behind the scenes and are finally ready to pull back the curtain. Take a look...

We want to make your customers’ onboarding journey lightning fast. That’s why we now have OCR (Optical Character Recognition) Autofill. Like magic, it extracts the data from your user’s identity document and your form will be populated in seconds. The chance of a customer entering a name different from the one on their identity document is gone...and no more ducking autocorrect nightmares, either. The list of supported documents is growing by the day – watch this space...

We’ve halved the size of the SDK! Though it be but little, it is fierce – and still provides support for image validation. The core SDK is now as small as 3MB, with image validation brought in via the backend. And that’s not all. We’ve also modularised the SDK, so you can pick and choose which real-time image validation elements (and other advanced features) you want to include within your app.

The SDK updates keep on coming. We’ve also added US barcode readability detection on Android SDK, so you can be sure that the barcode on your customer’s identity document can be correctly extracted before it is processed. This means you’ll see higher pass rates with lower turnaround times for your customers. Keep a look out for iOS on-device barcode readability, coming soon to an Onfido Outline near you.

Snapchat notifies you when someone tries to take a sneaky screenshot of your snap, so why wouldn’t we? When a user submits a screenshot of their identity document, it’s likely they are not in possession of the document. So our research team has automated the identification of screenshots with a precision of over 96%. Now, you’ll be notified in your client Dashboard if a screenshot has been detected.

Always dreamed of ruling the world? Make it a reality! Now you can now easily add or remove users from your central user management system through Single Sign-On (SSO). If your users are already logged in to your central user management system, they won’t need to remember any passwords and they won’t need to log in through the Dashboard. Just try not to let the power go to your head!

In the coming months, we are  also planning to turn on Multi-Factor Authentication by default for new and existing Dashboard users. Multi-Factor Authentication is key to securing and protecting your customers’ sensitive personal information. You can opt out of this if you need to. Your Account Manager or Client Support will be in touch with more information.
